STI-7

Detects and identifies 7 major pathogens of STI simulatenously in one tube, with a single test.

Test Introduction

iGene’s STI-7 is a multiplex PCR (polymerase chain reaction) assay which can simultaneously detect 7 of the most common pathogens (CT, NG, MG, MH, UU, UP, TV) in a single sample that can cause chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, male urethritis, pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), neonatal ophthalmia and
pneumonia or adverse pregnancy outcomes.

STI-7 can help healthcare providers choose the appropriate treatment regimens by identifying the specific pathogens causing the infection.

1. Chlamydia Trachomatis (CT)

2. Neisseria Gonorrhoea (NG)

3. Trichomonas Vaginalis (TV)

4. Mycoplasma Hominis (MH)

5. Mycoplasma Genitalium (MG)

6. Ureaplasma Urealyticum (UU)

7. Ureaplasma Parvum (UP)

Patient Story

A Patient’s Journey: A story of Relief and Empowerment

Maria, a 28-year-old teacher, had always prioritized her health. However, after starting a new relationship, she noticed subtle changes in her body—mild discomfort and unusual symptoms that she couldn’t explain. Though hesitant and embarrassed at first, Maria decided to visit her healthcare provider, who recommended an STI test.

The test revealed a treatable bacterial infection, which might have led to complications if left undiagnosed. More importantly, Maria discovered that regular testing is not only about treating symptoms but also about safeguarding her long-term health and fertility.

Armed with this knowledge, Maria encouraged open communication in her relationship, which strengthened trust and understanding. She now advocates for STI awareness, sharing her experience to help others prioritize their well-being without shame or stigma.

For Maria, STI testing was more than a medical procedure; it was a step toward empowerment, health, and peace of mind.
